If you have found me then you are about to be opened up to a blogger with a difference! I am not a fashion follower, I am more about buying for keeps, so investing and recycling your pieces. I don’t believe in always following as after all we are all trend setters in our own rights. Fashion is an expression of ourselves and the personalities suppressed by the tick box world we live in.
Hello my beautiful people, it’s been a while so I thought it’s about time I wrote something.
It’s been a beautiful start to autumn in the UK with a lot of unexpected sunshine and so I thought it a perfect opportunity to enjoy some of my statement skirts. I absolutely love a skirt and have had an obsession of collecting unusual statement ones for a whole. So here are some of my favourites from one of my fav brands, Stella Jean. If you have not come across any of her stuff, then do check her out as you won’t be disappointed, she is a Haitian/Italian designer who designs the most beautiful tribal and wax print pieces. I definately am obsessed with all things Stella.
Check out two of her skirts that I purchased probably 5 years back, but are so timeless and should hold their worth and appeal for years to come.
A Stella piece is for life! I hope my daughter or niece will open a chest of my old favourites and fall in love with my so favoured Stella pieces 20 years from now😍
Ah yes, not forgetting my other favourite from a unique German designer called Odeeh😀If you love skirts then am your girl🙌🏽🥂
Hello beautiful people, how did you find the first signs of the UK chill this Sunday? I mean heaters were on and all things warm in my house.
I had a small family 60th birthday to attend, so I had to deal with all weather challenges fashionably, hence why I opted for this beautiful earthy terracotta orange brown in the form of a Zara jumpsuit I purchased from the end of their summer/resort season collection. For warmth, but still complimenting the Jumpsuit earthy tone, I matched up with a little piece I have had in my collection for a good five or so years. Yes the beautiful, striking alpaca cropped mohair jacket from this beautiful niche brand called Commuun. I high recommend checking out this wonderful edgy little powerhouse “Commuun” as they really have wonderful pieces that are both outstanding in design and quality.
For shoes I gravitated towards these leopard print calf hair pumps, I again purchased from KG say a decade ago. Yes I always call upon old pieces in my wardrobe to compliment new purchases as certain styles are just timeless and just keep getting recycled and reintroduced. Hence why I recommend buying well, my motto is,”don’t buy anything you can’t see yourself wearing ten years from now.”
I can definitely see myself rocking this whole look years from now😀🙌🏽. In the meantime happy new week ahead💋
Hello my beautiful people💋 Another bright Monday, so let’s keep our chins up and think of all things lovely.
Thought I would share a weekend update with you of the wonderful evening I enjoyed with the hubby😘
I opted for a Light white and pink stripy Sandro off the shoulder dress and paired up with blue & red statement heels from Malone Souliers.
I really adore these wedges and infact treat them like gold dust, for they only ever come out if I know for sure that walking will be minimal to ensure that they are unscathed. Sad right?
We went for dinner at no other than Hakkasan, Hanway Place and as usual it didn’t disappoint. Food was great, especially as both our palates have a fondness for Cantonese cuisine. Atmosphere also as expected 👌🏽🤩💫
Hello again my beautiful people, hope you’re all having a splendid Thursday looking forward to the end of another long hopefully productive week.
Now I am sure I am not alone when I state that Zara’s prints are off the hook this resort season. They are really pushing the creative boat out and outperforming all other fast fashion high street brands in the print trend this resort season, by bringing us beautiful prints at great prices! Being a fan of statement prints and knowing how much you have to pay for a designer equivalent, I salute and say keep up the good work Zara🙌🏽
Here are a few of my favourite prints from Zara for this post summer resort season:The statement chain print blouse is from Zara! Yes it’s not silk, polyester but who cares? Pair it up as I have done with a mini skirt such as this moss green wool one from Cos, Sophia Webster statement heels again in Suede moss green too and you’re popping! It looks like silk now doesn’t it! It’s all about how you can wear it, we all know that😀 Not forgetting the Fedora to add a little something extra👌🏽
Below is another scarf print dress I recently purchased from Zara’s resort season paired up with cheap and cheerful sunnies from & Other Stories:
Last but not least is one of my current favs, this beautiful woven print multicoloured maxi again from Zara:
What trend are you loving currently in the high street? Have a good day beauts…💋
Hello beautiful people sorry I have been gone for a while, but summer hols with my little one have keep me so busy and locked away. Yes I need to improve my multitasking😀
So summer has finally decided to leave us hanging at the mercy of Autumn, let’s not fret however as September is still lingering on with her sunny spells. I am therefore taking every opportunity available to bask in the sun’s rays and lap up as much vitamin D as Possible before the days get shorter and colder. I will not despair too much though as there is absolutely nothing wrong with a cold crispy October morning with a nice hot cup of coffee in one’s hand😀
In the meantime we will enjoy what’s left of September and brace ourselves for the rest of Autumn, because with the current UK weather trend one simply can’t predict if we are about to experience the coldest or warmest Autumn. Going by the prolonged heat wave this summer, I say we are in for a surprise, but come what may I for one intend to embrace and face all challenges fashionably🙌🏽😀.
Hello my fellow sun loving people! I mean what a summer we are having over here in the UK😀.
Decided to lap up some rays over breakfast this morning in a dramatic black frilly sun dress from none other than the high street wardrobe saviour “Cos” that gives us not just staples, but pieces that are geometrically arty and can stand the state of time.
Now black is not the first colour that springs to mind when the sun is out, but trust me this dress is so light weight and flowy on top of being so beautifully designed. It is made of a very light semi sheer cotton and silk, so not heavy at all even for the kind of heat wave we have been experiencing over here in the UK.

There is also an added fun factor to the dress with the adjustable hem cords to adopt this stunning dress to your planned activity or event. Another investment piece, wouldn’t you agree?🙃
Hello people happy weekend! I have been on the search for not any, but The Perfect Parisian Boater hat for a while to finish off that boho chic look or even just store away for that sunny getaway.
Anyway I just happened to be having a lazy London afternoon stroll along South Molton Street this Saturday and felt the sudden urge to pop in for a quick shop browse of a fav brand of mine, Claudie Pierlot. Well guess what was staring at me as I minded my quiet shopping business? The Perfect Parisian Boater! My head said no, my fashion heart screamed, yes yes, this is the one you have been looking for😀Heart over head, I spontaneously purchased the hat and enjoyed that brisk feeling of “yes I have it finally.”😄
What has been your spontaneous must have purchase of the month? Mine has to be the 🎩 May we share lots of happy fashion memories to come💋
Hello beautiful people! Is it me but is this turning out to be one of the best summers we have had for a while in the UK? With pretty much guaranteed sun throughout June and July, what better time to squeeze in that UK staycation you have been postponing summer after summer.
Tempted by the just gone sunny month of June, we decided to book a family retreat in July to none other than the English Riviera, Devon. The family and I have just come back from six glorious sun filled days and nights in Teignmouth, Devon and it really didn’t disappoint at all. I mean at times the beauty of this place was so unexpectedly breathtaking that you could be forgiven for mistaking it for somewhere in the Mediterranean. Top this off with the beautiful drive up and no hassle of airport terminals, then the UK coastline is a real competitive option.
The scenery and beaches were simply beautiful with so much to see and do.

I hope more of us will be considering a staycation😎💋
And hello again beautiful people! Yes it’s that time of year when it’s all about the shades🙌🏾
Yesssssss! it’s time to rock them as you feel suits! I love the appeal of sunglasses and how we all have different preferences aligned to personality, style and mood. They basically are as is fashion as a whole, extended expression of our personalities these days, as in are you fun? Bold? Laid back? Wacky? Eccentric? There are sunglasses to fit all star signs, personalities and moods. Most of all your style of choice at a given place and time.
I have a few favourites of my own this season as set out below in no particular order:
1. The Gucci Sylvie Webb gold metal red blue and white sunglasses for that stunning bold retro look.
2. The D&G round detail acetate and metal sunglasses for that classic chilled out riviera look.
3. The D&G round metal trim sunglasses with a Leo print clip on to accessorise as you feel fit. These are definitely bold being oversized, especially if accessorised with the Leo print clip on as I have in the below pic.
Which shades are floating your boat this season? I mean there are loads to choose from😀stressful fun, but I would always advise going for the ones that make you feel like yessssss! I’m good to go😎
Happy summer days everybody! It’s been a while since my last post, work and everything life got in the way. Anyway I really wanted to do a post on fuchsia being an unlikely hot summer colour. It really is a colour that can pop on all skin tones, bringing on that wow factor especially in chiffon, silk or anything airy and floaty.
It just so happened that I had a summer wedding garden party to attend this weekend, so I thought this the perfect setting for my beloved Temperley pleated maxi chiffon dress in no other colour but fuchsia
Temperley Pleated Chiffon Maxi in Fuschia
I mean I just love the whimsical feeling this fuchsia maxi brings on!
Do you have a maxi dress in a colour that takes you to wonderland? If not then it’s never too late to invest in one or two💋.
